Minutes for Nature
As part of our 75th birthday celebrations, we've created the Minutes for Nature challenge and we'd love for you to pledge some of your time to help the natural world.
We want you to get involved as each action contributes to a growing collective effort... imagine how much of a difference we could all make to protect the natural world together!
How does Minutes for Nature work?:
- Complete your activity / make your pledge
- Complete the form by recording your activity / pledge
- Add some basic details about you
- Hit submit!
- Your completed form will head to our inbox where we will add your activity / pledge to a leaf on our growing illustrated pledge tree mural at the zoo, (for example, John Smith, Edinburgh planted bee friendly flowers on their windowsill, 10 minutes.)
- If you'd like to share images with us please email animals@batterseaparkzoo.co.uk or tag @Batterseazoo with your #MinutesForNature activity to inspire others to join in!
Some suggested small and meaningful #MinutesForNature activities you could do to support nature and wildlife include:
-
Litter picking in a local green space, park or beach
-
Make a bug house
-
Putting up a bird feeder, nest box or bat box
-
Planting wildflowers or pollinator-friendly plants
-
Building hedgehog habitats
-
Clearing invasive plants from a nature reserve or waterway
-
Counting wildlife in your garden and submitting to ‘inaturalist’ app.
Pledges can also be made in person at Battersea Park Children’s Zoo.
