Battersea Park Children's Zoo Announces Spook-tacular Halloween Half Term Event

24th Sep 2025

"Battersea Park Children's BOO!" offers family-friendly frights and animal encounters this October

From 25th until 31st October, Battersea Park Children's Zoo is inviting families to join the Halloween fun with their special half term event, "Battersea Park Children's BOO!" This October half term, London's beloved family zoo transforms into a spook-tacular destination where ghosts and ghouls of all ages can enjoy mysterious animal encounters, interactive storytelling, and creepy-crawly adventures.

"The scariest thing about this Halloween would be missing out on the spooky fun at Battersea Park Children's Zoo," says Gemma Cathie, Education and Events Manager. "We've created the perfect blend of Halloween excitement and educational animal experiences that families love about our little London zoo."

Halloween Activities Include:

Minibeast Mansion (11:30am-1:00pm and 2:00pm-4:00pm) This year's featured activity takes the 'creepy' out of 'creepy crawly' as families get up close with the zoo's fascinating invertebrates, including snails, millipedes, and other unique residents. The experience includes hands-on encounters and craft activities in a specially themed cabin setting. Entry to Minibeast Mansion is free, with some paid activity options available.

(Not So) Spooky Storytime (11:15am and 1:45pm) Interactive puppet shows bring zoo animals and their adventures to life in this family-friendly storytelling experience. Suitable for all ages, the free sessions take place by the Treetops Centre.

Halloween Costume Competition Visitors are encouraged to arrive in their favourite costumes all week, spooky or not! Zoo staff will be on the lookout for the best-dressed visitors throughout the week, awarding vouchers to enter into a prize draw for an exclusive 30-minute animal encounter.

Beyond the Halloween festivities, visitors can see all the beloved farmyard and exotic animals that call Battersea Park Children's Zoo home and meet the zoo's newest residents, Patagonian Maras, Rufus and Mavis. Patagonian Maras are known for their unique appearance that resembles a cross between a rabbit and a small deer. Their curious and alert nature makes them fascinating creatures to watch.

The Halloween half term event runs throughout the October school holiday period at Battersea Park Children's Zoo, located in the heart of Battersea Park, London.
