Winter means early closing!

Winter means early closing!

As the days are short the zoo closes earlier so that before it gets too dark we can count in the animals that need to go inside for the night!

Our rabbits, guinea pigs, agouti and mara all need to be safely rounded up and closed in for the night to keep them warm and safe.

The rest of the animals are either:

sensible enough... meerkats and coatis

big enough... emus and donkeys

or strong and brave enough... wallabies, to take themselves off to bed!

The remaining animals are contained and safe already! As the night draws in the zoo quietens down and the animals settle for the night.

There is only one animal at the zoo who when it gets really cold needs to wear a coat... and that's our donkeys!
